On Your Mark, Get Set, Sweat!

Stroller Strides rocks! Interestingly enough even though I hate bugs and being hot I totally dig getting out in the morning and sweating behind the stroller. Maybe it's the fact that I almost fit into my prepreggo clothes again, but I even don't mind the mosquitoes. I've even started training to run a 5K. It's almost embarrassing to say that since I know so many people fit enough to just go run three miles no problem. I, on the other hand, come from the school of why-work-out-if-I-could-eat-ice-cream. Unfortunately Memphis in August could double for Hades...heat wise...Today I walked the first leg of the trail and already had sweat dripping into my eyes. I rocked it anyway. When I got home I ordered my jogging stroller and I am soooo excited. As soon as it comes I'm strapping Derek in and heading for the horizon (as long as it isn't over three miles away we'll darn well make it too). *sigh*
Anyone in town should check out the Forrest Spence 5K September 12. It is in honor of a baby that lived 55 days in the LeBonheur NICU and proceeds go to create convenience baskets for families with babies in said NICU. My running coach knows the family. I think it is a good cause and I just love LeBonheur since they were absolutely amazing when Derek was admitted. If you come you can check me out in my snazzy jersy with my new stroller...yeah, you know how I roll.
